This is an Open Group administered by the Site Owners' Representative(s), presently known as the Schoolmaster, which is a screen name for a group of people acting in this community on behalf of the Site Owners.
Community Steering Committee (CSC) is a temporary name for this group, but you may call it the Schools Community Network Council, the Community Controlling Body or the Network Regulatory Authority (or whatever community members decide to call it) and all Schools Community Network (SCN) Members are invited to participate in discussions, decisions and community projects.
Members of other social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn and many more, cannot provide inputs or get directly involved in the management of these facilities. The aim of this group is to change that and provide all SCN members direct access to management decisions concerning this social networking facility. The SCN is an open online community for its members and managed by its members.
Although the SCN will be operated within the guidelines, terms and policies of the site owners, members may even challenge these guidelines, terms and policies, which truly make it an open society for all its members.
